Text Message Policy

Text invitations start with a member of OpenBound Journey who is planning a trip. On the invite screen the member enters the phone number of the person they are travelling with, and before the Text button becomes available they must tick a box that reads:

"I confirm this person asked me to send them a text invite to OpenBound Journey."

The screen also states, next to that box, that message and data rates may apply and that the recipient can reply STOP at any time. We store the confirmation with the phone number, the member who sent it, the exact wording they agreed to, and the date and time, so a record of permission exists for every message we send. Nothing is sent to a number without that record.

Every invitation identifies OpenBound Journey by name, names the trip, and includes the join link and the required disclosures. A real example:

Join me planning "Antelope Canyon Weekend" on OpenBound Journey. Sign in with this phone number and the trip will be waiting for you: https://openboundjourney.com/auth

Message frequency: one message per invitation. A person receives another message only if a member invites them to another trip.

Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message and we immediately record that number as opted out and confirm it in a reply. No further texts are sent to that number, by us or by any member, unless the person replies START. Reply HELP for a message identifying us and giving our contact address. Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
